AG NEW ENGLAND RAISES OVER $30,000 AT CHARITY GOLF TOURNEY

Associated Grocers of New England recently held its 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament this year benefiting Share Our Strength® Cooking Matters and the New Hampshire Food Bank. Participating in the tournament were AG New England retailers, associates, and supporting brokers, vendors, and manufacturers. In the tournament’s four-year history, AG New England has raised over $100,000 to aide charitable organizations with goals of feeding the hungry.

The golf classic was held at the Plausawa Valley Country Club, adjacent to AG New England’s Distribution Center, in Pembroke, New Hampshire.

“This year’s tournament raised over $30,000,” says President and CEO Mike Bourgoine. “We’re very pleased, once again, to support Share Our Strength who weaves together a network of community groups, activists, and food programs to catch every at-risk child in America with the goal that not one grows up hungry. And this year the tournament also benefited the New Hampshire Food Bank who is facing their greatest challenges ever as the need to feed New Hampshire’s hungry is at an all time high. In addition to contributing $30,000, Reverse Solutions also contributed an additional $1,000 to  the New Hampshire Food Bank."

Associated Grocers of New England is owned entirely by Independent Retail Grocers as members of a cooperative and is the largest retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in New England serving over 600 stores. The cooperative serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and the Upstate New York/Albany area.
